We Are All Auction

This auction is ACT’s capstone fundraising event to a successful year of providing art classes and resources to artists with disabilities from West Michigan. However, due to COVID-19, this was the first year holding the event virtually, and they wanted to bring the same amount of energy and creativity as an in-person auction. This year, I helped them ideate and execute the theme “WE ARE ALL WORKS IN PROGRESS”. The main works of art being auctioned off were a series of self-portraits created from magazine clippings, which were left incomplete due to in-person classes being suspended. These works, in their incompleteness, provided beauty and were symbolic of the times their artists are working through. By combining sections of each of the 16 works of art, I utilized them to create a flexible and vibrant event branding which helped bring the familiar energy the in-person event has to the first ever online only event. As a thank you to donors, I helped create an “auction in a box” so they could still enjoy their familiar favorites, while enjoying the virtual event from the comfort of their homes. Despite the new form and the challenges the pandemic brought, ACT was able to meet their fundraising goals for the event.
