SPRUCE GROUSE ARE UNDERRATED BIRDS! Over the past few years I have visited their realm deep within the Huron National Forest 4-5 times and I had not been deemed worthy until I was finally blessed with a fleeting glimpse of one of the last breeding pairs in the lower peninsula back in April of 2024.
These beautiful birds are listed as Threatened in Michigan and I think that’s a shame. Hopefully by drawing this lil’ handsome devil, that won’t always be the case.
