Time is a mysterious thing. Ever since my wife and I had our daughter, I have felt like I have really been struggling with time. As a way to sit with that feeling/cope with my changing reality and as a tool to teach my daughter about time in the future, I made a calendar! Pretty neat right?
Along the edge of the circle, you’ll see a thick black line, divided into 12 segments. Each segment holds various symbols within them that corresponds with an event that occurs within nature or my personal life that I rely on to keep track of the passing of each year. If you begin at the top of the page, you will find January, and then rotating clockwise is each of the following months.
In the center, you’ll find the various phases of the moon and my representation of the harmony of past, present and future OR mind, body and soul OR your own personal holy trinity (you can make up your own interpretations it is an okay thing to do!) surrounded by dancing humans because time passes so much more sweetly when you’re happy that time exists to enjoy.
Then, to protect every moment and to bring a bit of humanity into the seasons of life, each corner is ordained by a family surrounded by its community all being held in the loving hands of the owner of this calendar (a.k.a. potentially you if you buy this print)
Anyways… TIME! What a strange thing! Why did I make this? What do all the symbols mean? WHAT WILL TOMORROW HOLD??? I don’t know… and that’s okay :)
